The path that led me to become a professional photographer and web designer was very long and complex. I am an extremely eclectic, creative person, with a lot of interests. I would define myself a “out of the box” kind of person. That’s why over the years I changed direction several times in my professional and life path, making strong decisions, often in antithesis with the past.
Straight after graduating, I felt a strong need to explore the world. So I deciced to leave Lecce to start a university course in Perugia, where I graduated in Advertising Communication and Strategic Design. Afterwards I lived in many cities both in Italy and Europe, especially Dublin, Lisbon and Milan.
I worked for many years in important multinationals in the field of tourism, but I always felt within me the need to pursue a different lifestyle, making a living from my passions, which, over the years, became stronger and stronger.
The Covid pandemic was the straw that broke the camel’s back, leading me to the drastic decision to give up a career and a stable job to become a photographer and web designer.
These are very old passions for me, born in the post-adolescent period.
I bought my first SLR about 20 years ago, and since then it has been a crescendo. I attended several specialisation courses and shadowed other photographers to learn the ‘tricks of the trade’. I kept practicing, gaining more and more experience and technical knowledge, so I eventually became a professional photographer.
Currently, from a purely professional point of view, I mainly deal with portrait photography, weddings and events, and interior photography. However, in my spare time I continue to cultivate my passion for street photography and conceptual photography. My style very much reflects my personality and my experiences, which is why I definitely prefer reportage to posed photography, always trying to capture the right moment, ‘the decisive moment’ – as Bresson used to say. I strongly believe that emotion and authenticity are the most important aspects in photography.
With regard to Web Design, this is another passion that has ancient roots for me, as can be seen from my university career. After graduating, I continued to specialise, attending various professional courses. Among them the most important for me was the High Specialisation course in Graphic and Web Design at the European Institute of Design (IED) in Milan. I mainly use WordPress for the creation of my sites, which I always manage to adapt to my clients’ needs, thanks to my knowledge of CMSs (‘Content Management Systems’) and HTML, CSS, and Javascript languages.
